Feng Shui(风水)

Hey, guys! Finally, I have done with my Final Year Project draft. As I mentioned in the previous post, I gonna share something about Feng Shui. This time, I will share some of my family background. I have several uncles and one of my uncle is a Feng Shui Master. He was a reporter of "The Star" last time and currently a Feng Shui Master. His Feng Shui's knowledge was learned from an old man as I heard from my father. Moreover, my father also a Feng Shui enthusiast and he learn all these by himself.

For you guys information, Feng Shui consists of 5 elements that are Metal(金), Wood(木), Water(水), Fire(火) and Earth(土). These five elements form our earth and most of the things in the world. These five elements can be found in most of the things in our Earth therefore they can be consider as the basic elements. One important point that I want to mention here is Feng Shui does not related to any of the religious and it only mentioned about the nature of the world. Feng Shui explain about the relationship between all the living things with the non-living things. It is a quite abstract topic and it do related to our daily life.

Actually, Feng Shui is just a part of the contents from the Book of Change(易经). Almanac(通书) is also another topic that obtains from the Book of Change and it is closely related to Feng Shui. In other words, Feng Shui and Almanac are subset of Book of Change. Begins from here I will describe about some of the Feng Shui aspect. According to my uncle's description, we can make some change to our life by implements Feng Shui in our daily life. The daily life that I mention is not the usual daily life that we refer to, but it consists of the way we live and lifestyle.

My uncle did mentioned an important advice for those that plan to hire a Feng Shui Master last time and I will share it to you guys at here. Some of Feng Shui Masters are not good in their profession due to lack of certain important knowledge in Feng Shui but some how they still can make something bad to you. If you invite these kind of professionist and you don't believe with them then they can make use of Gui Wei(鬼位) to do something harmful on you so that you would believe on it. However, most of the skillful Feng Shui Masters won't do such kind of thing to us. Therefore, please do not offend Feng Shui Masters.

Some people may thought that this is just a joke but it really can happen to anyone of us. The effect of Feng Shui is not just improve your life but it can also make you(including your family and descendants) much more worse than now. Therefore, do not try to offend Feng Shui Masters. The ex-president of Republic of China, Mao Zedong(毛泽东) is one of the beneficiary of Feng Shui. His story has been mentioned innumerable time in most of the Feng Shui's book.

During his childhood, his father was guided by a Feng Shui Master for buried his grandfather's body on a good land(龙脉). According to the explanation of Feng Shui's book, the place where his grandfather buried is only good to him but may caused harmful to his descendants. As a result, most of the Mao Zedong's son were death before the autumn of their life. His four out of six sons had passed away in the young age. This is one of the effect of Feng Shui.

Actually, Feng Shui can be consider as a science of civil engineering. It always refer to the direction of our house situated and the household design. It is much like interior design but it more emphasize on the effect of the design. For example, we should not place our kitchen facing with the toilet. From the aspect of Feng Shui explanation, toilet is belongs to water element whereas kitchen is fire element. Both these elements cannot face with each other because they are oppose to each other and if they are facing each other then worst situation may occurs. From the aspect of science, kitchen should not face with toilet because toilet is one of the most dirty places in our house.

Apart from that, if your house is facing with the T junction, then you will easily feel of under pressure and insomia. From the aspect of Feng Shui, this happen because of the flow of Chi(气). Different kind of Chi is always flowing into your house. Different Chi can have different effect and this can affect to your health especially your mental. From the aspect of science, when you living in such kind of houses, you will always see the car pass by. Every time a car pass by in front of your house, you will worry of the car is unable to stop right at the T junction and even afraid of horrible accident(s) happen in front of your house. As a result, it can caused your pressure increase and insomia. Therefore, Feng Shui is a logical subject too.

My conclusion is no matter you believe it or not, Feng Shui do exist. Hope you guys after read through this article can have a more understanding of Feng Shui. Thanks for your reading. Stay tuned for my next post. Hope you guys have a nice day!

My grandfather story

Hey, guys! Sorry for been a long time for not updating my blog. I'm currently busy with my Final Year Project therefore not much of time to update my blog. However, today I would like to share a real story about my grandfather.

My grandfather was came from China during 19th century. During those time, most of the Chinese whom came from China are as slave or been slave trade(卖猪仔) to the South-East Asia. His real surname was Wong(王). After my grandfather came to Malaya for quite a long time, he was adopted by the Lee's family as foster-son. That's how my grandfather surname change to Lee. The main reason of my great-grandfather adopted my grandfather as foster-son was because my great-grandfather(foster-father of my grandfather) have married for a period but they still have not gave birth. According to elders' advice, if someone have married for quite a long time and still have no children then they can have chance of fertility through adopting a child. As a result, my grandfather was adopted by the Lee's family. May be you guys will feel that this elders' advice is nonsense. However, it did work on my great-grandfather. After my grandfather was adopted, my great-grandmother(foster-mother of my grandfather) had pregnant and birth 2 sons for the Lee's family.

Ok, that's all for my grandfather personal background. Then, I will talk about my grandfather personal story. My grandfather was a lorry driver before he was passed away. He was death not because of having fatal disease but due to the Tame Head(降头) of someone else. My grandfather passed away when my father was 8 years old. According to my father's description, he knew it was a Tame Head because he did saw some omen that is he saw a devil(鬼子) appeared before my grandfather have the Tame Head. Before I continue with my grandfather story, I will explain about the term of devil that I used in previous sentence.

The devil that I mention here was not the western devil. It was a child whom was death because of diseases or abortion(mostly due to abortion) and the body of the child has been captured and stored in a container by the sorcerer. Before the sorcerer captured and adopted the death child, they required to go through a spirit-callback ceremony. This spirit-recall ceremony required the death body of the child and some more ceremony stuffs. I would not explain the whole process of spirit-callback ceremony because I was not very clear about the whole process and it also required some professional knowledge in this area.

This spirit-callback ceremony was used as callback for the soul of the death body for return to their body and therefore the child will be consider as 'alive'. The meaning of alive is not the body alive but is their soul alive. The body of the child is consider as a shell or home for it. This shell will be feed by the sorcerer/owner every day. However, the method of feeding is very disgusting and horrible. Therefore, I won't mention about it. Although they had death, but their soul still can walk around. Therefore, sorcerer/owner use them to perform some tasks that human hard to go through such as investigating someone personal background without go through physical contact or win in gambles. The devil can also been adopted by other people. However, it is costly and somehow it may hazard to the owner and whole family too.

Ok, let us back to the story. My father had saw the devil for three days continuously and the devil always appeared from the clock hanging on the wall. This situation happen at around 9pm and each time it lasts for around 10 minutes. My father described the devil as a child with a face that was unclear and it only protrude its head from the clock each time it appeared. The devil also knew that it has been saw by my father. However, the devil just smile with my father each time it appeared.

During the moment my father saw it, my father felt curious of it so he quickly wake my grandfather up and told him that he saw it. Then, my grandfather tried to look at the clock but he said he did not saw anything appeared from the clock. May be my grandfather was too sleepy at that time so he did not saw it. Then my grandfather advice my father for sleep early and do not think much about it.

However, my father did not listened to grandfather's advice and he tried to look at the clock again. After he waited for around five minutes, my father saw the devil appeared from the clock again. After the third night of the appearance of the devil, my grandfather begins sick. My father did not mentioned about the symptom of my grandfather's Tame Head and grandfather had went through several body checkup. However, his disease cannot be identified and begins worst day by day. Even though my grandfather followed the instruction of the doctors and having some medicine but he still unable to recover from the disease.

Apart from visiting doctors, my grandfather did visited sorcerer for removing the Tame Head but it failed too. My grandfather passed away after 2 months of suffering from the Tame Head. Until now, my father still cannot figure out who that give Tame Head to my grandfather. However, since it was past, then we just leaved it away because revenge would not bring any advantage to us even though we have found the Tame Head designator.

Ok, that's all for today! Thanks for reading my post. My next post will related to Feng Shui(风水) so please stay tuned for my next post. Hereby I wish you all have a nice day.

Beware of Fishing (Phishing)!

Hey, guys! Today I gonna share a case of phishing to you guys. What is phishing? It is pronounced as 'fishing' due to it was quite similar to fishing. During fishing, we need to provide a bait then wait for the fish to eat our bait and finally pull the fish up from the water interface. In phishing, all the steps occur in fishing are almost the same except the method and items is a bit different. The bait is replace by the email, SMS, MMS or even phone call whereas the fish is internet users, individual or organization community.

The case of phishing that I gonna share here is the email phishing. Few days ago, I just received an email from HSBC bank and the content of email shown in figure 1.
Figure 1: Phishing email

This email mentioned that I had a change in my personal information or submitted incorrect information during my registration for HSBC bank. However, I felt a bit of suspicious to this email because I don't even have any account in this bank yet nor register myself in this website before. Therefore, I consider it as a fraud email. Somehow, I was quite curious to the link that suggested in the email. Thus, I copy the link and put it to the URL of my browser and I notified that the link's protocol is a HTTPS.

As I learned from my Technology and Information System class, HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) protocol is consider as a secure channel which used to transfer our personal information such as credit card number, personal identity and etc rather than using HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP). Most of the phishing email will give the link that used HTTP rather than HTTPS. However, these bad guys use HTTPS to perform their evil plans. After I browse through the link and I found out that its interface is almost the same as the interface in the real HSBC bank web page. Below are the figure of real and fake HSBC web page.

Figure 2: Real HSBC web page

Figure 3: Fake HSBC web page

The fake HSBC web page is similar to the real HSBC web page as we can see from the figure 2 and 3. The difference of both web page is not much because most of the functions included in real HSBC web page can be found in the fake HSBC web page and almost all of the functions can be use too. From this case, we can see that the phishing technique of the hacker is getting mature than before.

Besides that, I will ended my case here because I do not perform any further action beyond this point. Since I have share my case, thus I will also share some tips for you guys to avoid from becoming victim of phishing.

Below are the tips of prevent from phishing:
1. Do not simply click on the link of any email from unknown/known senders (especially spam mail) including bankers, organization or even your best friends.
2. If you really want to browse through the link, please copy it and paste it into your browser URL.
3. You can also use some URL checker to check for the link and see whether it is a suspicious link. Here is one of the free online URL checker, McAfee TrustedSource.
4. Check the link whether is HTTP or HTTPS. HTTP is the most common channel used by the hacker whereas HTTPS is far more less use than HTTP.
5. If you receive a instant messaging message that have link from your friends, then do not click on it. Some of the link may have virus or annoying message.
6. If you receive any unknown caller phone, please do not simply give your information to them unless you have confirm their identity.

My conclusion for this case is this phishing email might look real and it might threat some internet users. Therefore, I hope you guys can learn from my case and try to avoid from threaten by phishing message again. Ok, that's all for today. Thanks for reading.

*Above point of view are personal thought thus it might not be 100% correct.

My Life

Hey, guys! I have been a long time not updating my blog. This time I'm gonna share some of my feeling for this whole month.

August is a busy month because almost all kind of events, test and quizzes also happen in this month. As a result, I seldom update this blog. After this month, I will have a New Year Break(a.k.a Raya Break). Hopefully, I can have some good rest during this break. By the way, I got a good news to you guys. I gonna have my practical training at Panasonic Research and Development Center, Cyberjaya starting from 3th January 2011. The validation period is just last for around 6 months.

I heard from my senior that Panasonic is a tough and cruel company for those that having practical training(including myself). There are numerous of rules and regulation plus policies that we must followed in the company such as no medical leave for practical training students, no annual dinner for practical training students and etc. Sometime, there might be OT too but PT students still won't get any extra payment other than allowance.

However, I promise myself and believe that this would be part of the obstacles before we can reach our dream and life. Ok, that's all for today. Before I end my share for today, I would like to wish all Muslims Happy Aidilfitri and be careful during the way back to the kampung.

How to protect your computer?

Nowadays, lots of computer user definitely will login to their social network account, checking e-mail, playing online game and even watching streaming video or music too. But during this time, we might be threaten by the scammers or attackers for exposing our computer security to them. Thus, we need to have some basic knowledge in order to protect our computer from those attackers.

First, let's discuss about a quite famous type of attack which is cross-site scripting attack(XSS). This is a method of attacking your computer through scripts such as JavaScript and this script definitely will be found from the Internet and even from your social network application such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. In this case, we take Facebook as the example of JavaScript embedded page. Recently, scammers have set up illegitimate Facebook pages offering things like a free $500 gift card if you cut and paste some code into your browser's address bar and this probably would be a threat to you guys too. That code actually is JavaScript and you guys should not add those code to your browser because once you add it to your browser then your pc already compromise by the scammers. According to Chris Boyd, a security researcher with Sunbelt Software, "Scammers use this technique to open up unwanted surveys, fill your social networking profiles with spam or even to send you to phishing pages."

To avoid from this attack, you guys can use a free firefox plugin NoScript that allows you to control which websites can run or cannot run JavaScript in your browser. Apart from that, you can disabled JavaSript through your Adobe Reader too. According to Symantec(2009), nearly half of all Web-based attacks were associated with malicious PDF files. Thus, if you make adjustment to your Adobe Reader setting for not allows PDF to execute JavaScript then the risks of being attack by the scammers will also reduce.

The second threat that I gonna discuss is pop-up messages. Sometime, when you are visiting to a legitimate website and suddenly a scary-looking warning message pops up. The message is contain some sort of message as your computer already been infected by the viruses/malwares but when you trying to close up the message then more windows keep popping up and convincing you to scan your computer as soon as possible. If you follow its instruction then the scan will give you a result of found some security problems in your computer and offers you to buy a software which can solve the problem. The software is a rogue antivirus software. The antivirus software probably is a nonfunctional software and the only function of the software is to put your money into their pocket.

Currently rogue antivirus program become one of the most annoying security problems and to the victim, the pop-ups can seem like an infection to your computer. Every time you try to close a warning window, another one appears and it keeps popping up unless you don't close the warning window. My advice is never buy the software from them and the software not just won't work but it may caused your system to crash too. You should either press on Alt-F4 to close your browser directly or press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to open your system's task manager to shut down your browser. By closing the browser, the pop-up problem generally ends at there. If the pop-up problem still remains then you can have a try on this software-Malwarebytes.

Okey, my sharing ends at here today. For more details of how to protect your computer, please click on here. Thanks for reading. (This article adopted and modified from PCWorld: Security Secrets the Bad Guys Don't Want You to Know)

New Sem Coming Soon

Imperceptibly, my semester break is going to end soon. This also means that I need to submit my FYP title after this. However, I would use this few days to enjoy my "Home Sweet Home" life because I'm going to have my study until initial of December 2010 and I will be seldom back to my hometown afterward.

Before starting my new sem, I'm going to set up a new study target for myself and my GPA target is at least 3.33 for this new sem. Hopefully, this target can be achieve by the end of my coming sem. Most of my friends watch World Cup 2010 recently and sometime, I accompany my friends to watch all this match. Most of the World Cup result can be describe in a word of Unexpected. Lots of the World Cup gambler lose their money due to the unexpected World Cup result. However, I do hope those gamblers realize that gambling not a good habit because most of time gambling will bring us to the result of sad rather than happiness.

Apart from that, I just tried to format my laptop today but my laptop always appear BSOD(Blue Screen of Death) once it enter the Window Setup mode. Thus, I failed my formatting again. This also means that I need to send my laptop for warranty again. Hopefully, the fault can be fix as quickly as possible.

Ok, that's all for today. Thanks for reading.
